When ever you attend, High-Church
(enthusiastic services given by clergy with full orchestration) and you hear the preacher say "Can I get A witness?" and the choir rejoices, well after this last Sunday it will give you a chance just to think sit and wonder what does that man up there really mean? A witness can be defined as: a person with accreditation of moral character and fiber whom could testify to the exact account of what was seen. Some one whom has experienced what is being discovered. Thus the preacher is asking a question of which the Creator asks that of us every day.

This past Sunday, the 29th of July in the fifth age of man, He received a true witness. Some one strong as iron who's words did not rust and gentle and loving in his ways as the Texas summer winds over her wild flower filled fields in the coolness of her mornings.

Marvin Zinler was that type of witness- His stories helped thousands to be safe, his actions touched lives around the world, and yes here in Indian Country where we still have to face the same old story of bigotry and discrimination. And some third world means of starvation and that of freezing to death. For Years he had been quietly working on Stories with the Tribal Nation of the First peoples of Texas - That of the Tejas Indians, and that of Our Neighbors. He has been instrumental in helping with Tribal safe houses in Houston for battered women and abused children. An Eagle is such not because of his size, but because of his spirit. Thus this silver Eagles Eye has Witnessed much during his life.

"Little Bird That Says So"
During a meeting earlier this Spring of '07 with the Tettat and some of the Council members, he had told the Tribal Nation that he was working on an expose of corruption with in Texas Politics system dealing with federal funds that are supposed to go to the Tejas Nation. Along with other such stories including one which would be with Mayor Pro-temp- Councilman Marion Barry for the Bigot's - Racial Comments about Indians which was aired and that he previewed at KPRC talk radio where Doug Roach was producer.
He stated that he had much to do for he was preparing for a journey to travel abroad to help children of foreign nations to receive much needed aid. Though Marvin's actions he has stopped the exploitation of women and children all over the world, he wrote under cover for the ETT many times and through his work you will find more than slime reports, "slime of another kind" as a man of the law put it- those whom continue to corrupt such great things as our freedom and the most sacred of all our inherent given blind trust. As a citizen Marvin understood the concept of responsibility, and that of being your brother's keeper. During his declared leave, he had sent the Chief Justice of the Tejas Indians correspondence of his findings, and discovery from his work has proved to be invaluable to the investigators and prosecutors division of the Chief Justice. He has worked tirelessly to help correct wrongs and to protect the health and welfare of those whom he did not even know. From the closing down the Chicken Ranch to helping mothers get, aid to recover from homelessness to getting much needed diapers for children in Houston through his works behind the scenes were nothing short of miracles. He did so regardless of race or creed, Nationality or Tribal Affiliation. When interviewed this last spring I had asked why someone like him does what he does.? His reply was "Simply it is the right thing to do"

Although some projects will be left to other times the foundation of which he has laid will be on solid rock. On Aug 1, 2007 Zinler was to again meet with tribal leaders, and Elders of the Tejas Nation and such as the Hasinai confederated members of the Sovereign Nation of Tejas Indians - it was a phone call at 3 AM Monday morning when we learned of him walking the final path on the Red Road. It is now to the songbirds which we listen to and if you hear of on asking of questions and steadily just gaining the facts. It's the little bird that tells you and points out such detail of what is and is not. It is the Song of ones heart that makes the colours brighter, the Sunrise and Sunset so much more beautiful; and the time that you share in between such as more precious than that of gold, or that of mysteries of kings and world leaders - it is an answer each one of us will have to answer to in our own time.

Truthfully and honestly a reflection of ones self is the scariest for if we see the monster in the mirror how do we change it- responsibility of ones own character to have good moral standing with ones self, and to develop it . It is now time that when asked "Can I get a witness? Can you stand against all odds and face your Creator?" for it is the Eye that Witnesses which makes the community safer and stronger. So in church when your preacher gets emotional and the choir starts responding, the organist and music becomes electrifying - what will you think - can you stand up and defend with words of Truth and actions of great responsibility against the slime in your neighborhood what ever form it takes? Will you be able to walk the red road and face your actions with such great responsibility, will you be able to be or set an example by not just being a witness but by being responsibly involved, being such as your "bothers keeper" - regardless of ethnic background or historical culture. And when you face the Creator at the time of your life will you hear "Well done my good and faithful servant" We believe Marvin has. Thank you. We will miss you but we rejoice that you are there. In the end of days when we are all gathered and the last words are spoken you may here these words out of nowhere but spoken to your heart, when you need the strength to be responsible and creditable go a head and stand up and be a witness.
